Our History

The Story of CTI

The CTI story began in 1986. Back then, New England Tech graduates had been entering the workforce for more than 45 years. Our students were integrated into just about every industry, not just here in Rhode Island, but across the world.

But the Technology Age was at its beginning, and it became evident very quickly that information would evolve and advance at an increasing pace. Our former students, their coworkers and so many industry professionals found that they needed retraining and re-education just to keep current. And what better place to get cutting-edge training than New England Tech, long established as an innovative education leader.

And so the Center for Technology and Industry at New England Tech was established, dedicated to answering the diverse technical training needs of industries, from healthcare to interior design. Whether conducted in the classroom or online, our programs are flexible by design, to deliver specialized training to over 2,000 participants annually.

"New England Institute of Technology is a proven leader in the area of career development and technology. As the Commander, I am proud to have a strong partnership with an organization that prides itself on leadership, commitment, and a level of expertise that is demonstrated consistently by the staff and instructors of this outstanding institution."
