Gasoline EFI

This three-day course provides marine technicians with hands-on gasoline EFI training. It covers fuel and electrical EFI component function and testing procedures for GM based EFI inboard and I/O engines. Morning and afternoon sessions will be broken into sections of two-hour lecture followed by two-hour labs. Lectures will have lab demonstrations associated with them as well. A 50 question certification test will be given at the end of the course.

Successful students will be able to:

  • Explain the function of gasoline EFI engine sensors
  • Test engine sensors for resistance, opens, and shorts
  • Test wiring harnesses for resistance, opens, and shorts
  • Make repairs to Metripack and Weatherpack terminals
  • Test high and low pressure fuel pumps
  • Test and diagnose fuel pump electrical systems for faults
  • Explain ECM engine related functions
